I like that some of the digital library sites have suggestions for ways to use their site. I visited this site earlier this semester and I too liked the fact they had ideas for teachers to use in thier classroom. This makes it a true resource library in my opinion.

This sounds like an interesting article. I, too, like to compare things. I truly believe the libraries have to change because those who are accesing our libraries or maybe not accessing our libraries have more computer/Internet/digital savvy than traditional libraries and librarians do and these people will go where they can get the resources they need or want. We did the same thing in our generation, but it was on a different level and we tended to use the librarian as a resource.

When I read the article I found myself focusing on the "linking" too. I really like being able to connect over common interests with people far away, but I really have a hard time NOT connecting with people in person. In fact the more "digital" I become the more "material" I wish to be.

I'm interested in your "Africa" collection. I am person that takes interest in learning about other cultures, places, history etc. This collection would be fun...it's something different than all the libraries/information/academic collections I keep seeing. I hope you can get this done, I looked forward to viewing it.

Thanks for the post. It will help as I work on the digital collection project. If a project is worth doing with the intention of having people use it then it is worth evaluating so you can make necessary changes as needed.
